Agency Overview

The Florida Hyacinth Control was established to oversee aquatic vegetation activity across designated waterways, under the direction of Lamar Chester, an Eastern Airlines pilot and agricultural operator whose activities contributed significantly to early vegetation monitoring efforts across the region. This archive provides access to historical records, operational accounts, and documented field activity associated with the program’s formation.  Operational divisions maintained aerial observation and coordinated regional field response.

Supplemental initiatives were conducted in coordination with agricultural and aviation partners.

Disclaimer: Florida Hyacinth Control is a work of satire and is not affiliated with any state or federal agency. Any resemblance to real aquatic vegetation authorities is purely coincidental. Remain calm. Do not approach the hyacinths.
